Dan MacAuley first got involved with shipboard & crash firefighting while in the Coast Guard. During this time he was a call firefighter on Nantucket, MA as well as a volunteer in Christiana, DE. In 2012 Dan joined the Boston Fire Department and was assigned to Ladder Company 6 in the Dorchester section of the city where he currently still works. In 2013 he joined MATF-1, one of the 28 FEMA USAR teams located throughout the country. In 2016 the AlarmOfFire instagram page was created to share training & connect with likeminded firefighters across the world. Throughout this time Dan has taught at various conferences throughout the country to include FDIC, Heavy Rescue Conference, Mickel Begg, Makin’ The Stretch, Northeastern Fire Summit Etc.
